What Activities Should Muslims Do in Shaban?

In the Islamic calendar, the eight months preceding the holy month of Ramadan are Shaban. Ramadan is generally celebrated on the 15th day of Ramadan. Those who seek Forgiveness and praise from Allah Almighty must fast during the month of Shaaban. It is the month of Forgiveness, and we should do as many good deeds as we can in this month. Read the Quran as much as you can, and it is now easier as you can get an online Quran teacher on many platforms.

During this month, Muslims eat nutritious food and perform long prayers in preparation for the long fast of Ramadan. Sha’ban is the bridge between the holy month of Rajab and the holy month of Ramadan. Scholars say that Rajab is the month of sowing, Sha’ban is the month of sowing, and Ramadan is the month of harvest. Therefore, good deeds and charity should be planned in Rajab and carried out in Shaban. During Ramadan, one can enjoy all the blessings of good deeds.

Sha’ban means.

Shaban means “scatter” or “divide.” In the past, Arab tribes dispersed in search of water and oases during the month. It is done in preparation for the heat that begins the month. Shaban brings hope and optimism to the people, enabling them to survive the hot month of Ramadan. In modern times, Shaban is a metaphor for the tradition of continued preparation, but it is preparation for the long fasting days of Ramadan.

Benefits of Shaban Month 2022

Doing good and praying to Allah Almighty is more meaningful than any other month except Ramadan. However, one can enjoy some benefits during Shaban, and some of these situations are listed below.

Forgiveness Month.

Allah Almighty forgives those who pray in a sincere and repentant way. Allah graciously accepts every offering. People should be aware of their sins, trust in the mercy of Allah and take necessary actions during fasting such as prayers, recitations of the Quran, and almsgiving. Allah answers Shaaban’s prayer.

Prayer is an ideal tool for communicating with Allah Almighty and finding peace and happiness. Allah Almighty appreciates and approves the blessings of Dua and Heart Sutra recited in Shaban. Moreover, angels record personal prayers and report to Allah the steps encountered on Earth. Therefore, Sha’ban is a holy month for intensifying prayers of return, to which Allah answers mostly.

Have the opportunity to become a servant that Allah loves.

Because of Sha’ban, this month is an ideal time to approach Allah. Several hadiths illustrate the benefits of Shaban.

A month to prepare for Ramadan.

Apart from fasting, there are many ways to prepare for Ramadan Ramadan. First, you can set goals to achieve during Sha’ban and Ramadan prayers.

Here are some ideas.

  • Make a simple schedule for reading the Qur’an (or reciting the Qur’an if you think you can) and stick to it.
  • Meals for the homeless and the needy (Open Kitchen helps families in need to help orphans and children in need worldwide).
  • Spend time with family members (especially seniors) you haven’t seen in a long time.
  • Commit to giving up bad habits and ask Allah for Forgiveness.
  • Volunteer.
  • Set a schedule for Eid prayers – this will make it easier for you to pray on Ramadan nights.
  • Start saving for sadhana and plan where your money will go. Keep in mind that food costs are much lower during Ramadan, so this is a good time to invest in Ahra.

Important Events of Shaban

Fifteenth Night of Sheban

The 15th day of Sheban, or Sheban, is when the mosques facing Jerusalem are converted into mosques in Mecca. People seek Forgiveness for those who died on this big night. Shaban itself is the month of doing good deeds and being in the presence of God Almighty.

So, praying for Forgiveness and blessings opens the way to Jinnah (heaven). It is also possible to fast on the 15th of Ramadan, but fasting on the 15th of Ramadan is not compulsory. The 15th day of Sha’ban is called the “Night of Forgiveness.” According to some hadiths, the Prophet Muhammad asked his companions to pray and ask for Forgiveness on this night. Allah forgives all that He has created, except for two kinds of people: those who associate their doctrinal friends with Allah and those who associate their doctrinal friends with Allah.

Ramadan 15 is March 29 this year, so stay up late that night and ask for Forgiveness.

Abou Mousa al-Ash’ari reports that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said.

“The Lord descended to the lowest heaven in the middle of the night of Sha’baan and forgave those on earth except those who are united with Allah and those who are against Allah.”

Here are some things you can do to make the most of this blessed month during Ramadan.

Read the Quran.

Make it a habit to read the Quran every day. With Ramadan approaching, you need to be prepared to read the Quran within a month, so practice is necessary. In addition, reading the Quran always calms the mind and increases good deeds. There are multiple online Quran academies where you can get Quran tutors online, and they even provide online Quran classes on skype. Getting help from an online Quran teacher is as easy as using your phone now. So why don’t we take advantage of it?

Fasting is highly recommended, especially during the first half of the month. However, the second half of the month before Ramadan should be combined with fasting.

Do Dakar

Participating in chanting activities is always beneficial. However, try to read more often, even in your spare time or when you see fit. Recite Tasbih after every prayer and keep Allah’s name and praise on your lips.

Prepare for Ramadan

Use this month to refresh your knowledge or learn more about Ramadan. There is nothing wrong with the time to learn more and gain understanding, and use this time to practice Ramadan etiquette.
